more to come next year...

Sunday morning and my cat is already up, I thought to myself, so early? what goes on with him? then I remembered that clock time had changed…
Wise cat, who told him? Not me, he can’t read, has no internet.

Then it decided to go out and I thinking on how pretty the day was, I have one hour more to enjoy. The day even went by well, but fast the night arrived, it is true now it grows dark more early. It’s winter time and we must be prepared to cold whether and rain.
What can we do? Just wait until the next March 30, 2008 for good weather better and bigger nights of fun.

Summer / Winter time period

European nations have been taking advantage of the time change for decades, since 1996 the European Union (EU) standardized the EU-wide summer time period. The EU version of Daylight Saving Time goes from the last Sunday in March through the last Sunday in October. In the southern hemisphere where summer comes in December, Daylight Saving Time is observed from October to March. Equatorial and tropical countries on lower latitudes, don't observe Daylight Saving Time since the daylight hours are similar during every season, so there's no advantage to moving clocks forward during the summer. If you live in Europe, don’t forget to change your clock, turn time back to GMT+1 this weekend. In the night of Saturday to Sunday, at 2am turn your watch back one hour to 1am. The good news is that you have one more hour of sleep or partying on Saturday night and the bad news is that we will have many more hours of darkness in the next couple of months.
Be cool, because we’ll be back to summer time on March 30, 2008

My First!

I had already heard about it through the Internet and from some friends in coffee breaks, they all were speaking about but none of them knew what it was. PayPerPost was brought to me by a couple of friendly close friends from work, at the beginning I never thought that it would be worthwhile to be writing just for the money and the money would not be worthwhile the writing. But after a few months seeing them having some profit made just by writing on what they like, opening their minds and imagination. Sharing information around the world, providing and receiving the knowledge that keep us alive on our small but at the same time huge planet. They made me think a little. Will I be able to do the same thing? Of course I will! Now I will be able to continue to spread this information, curiosities, summarizing, a little of everything what goes on the world and keeping making new friends, sharing new ideas and wills. And at the same time I will be able to enjoy some of the money and invest in technology to test, analyze, share feelings around the word, this will allow me to continue to write with more and better quality. Keep supporting these ideas, and continue the good job.

Wild Cat Species of Africa

Africa is the second largest continent and covers up to 22% of the worlds land mass. It is a vast plateau continent with approximately 90% of the land being no more than 500 feet above sea level, while to the north the Sahara Desert makes up almost 25% of the total area of the continent. The majority of the continent has very low rainfall, with only eastern central lands, made up extensively of equatorial rain forest, receiving high average precipitation. The huge areas of Savanna to the east and south of the African continent are home to large herds of roaming herbivores and as such provide a substantial prey source for the native carnivores, including several of the cat family.

The African Golden Cat is a medium sized cat and can grow to 90cm in body length and weigh up to 18kg. Although its name implies a golden coloured coat the golden cat is polymorphic, its base coat coloration varies extensively depending on its location. Ranging from a golden/reddish brown to slate/silver grey. A report of a golden cat in captivity even suggest that the base colour of the fur can change from one colour phase to the other over a period of time depending on the age of the cat and various environmental stimuli. The under sides of the chin, chest and abdomen are usually lighter and in some cases almost pure white - in some individuals the head and body is spotted. Its long tail, which measures up to 40cm, is marked with dark line along the top and ends in a brown or black tip. The head caries distinctive light markings around the eyes and above the mouth - the small ears are dark coloured on the rear face.

The Black-footed Cat is one of the smallest species of cat. With a shoulder height of approximately 22cm and a body length of 50cm, the average male weighs in at about 2.2kg - however the female often weighs as little as 1.5kg and as such can be classified as the smallest of all wild cats. In appearance the cat has a large broad head in proportion to its small body, its coat colour varies from light sandy brown to reddish brown and is covered with dark spotted patches which sometime coalesce into broken stripes. The legs of the black-footed are bared with dark horizontal stripes and the tail is broken with dark rings and terminates in a black tip. The pads of its feet are black and are surrounded by long black hairs which give the small felid its name as well as protecting its feet from the heat of the semi-desert habitat.

The African wildcat is divided into many regional subspecies and their number and classification varies depending on which school of thought is followed. The range of the species as a whole extends across most of the old world. From parts of North West Europe, through the Middle East, parts of Asia and generally, excluding the true dessert areas, throughout The African continent. Species can be split into three main groups - F. silvestris.silvestris the European wildcat (Silvestris Group) found mainly in forested areas of Europe - F. silvestris.lybica the African wildcat (Lybica Group), distributed in various coloured forms in most of Africa apart from the Sahara and equatorial rainforest areas and F.silvestris.ornata the Indian Desert or Steppe wildcat (Ornata Group) found in various regions of western Asia through to parts of India and Southern Asia.

The Caracal in appearance resembles the Lynx in having characteristic dark tufts on its large, pointed ears and is indeed often referred to as the African Lynx or Desert Lynx, however the caracal is not closely related to the true lynx species. Extending the visual comparison, the body of the caracal is slimmer and less stocky, its legs are thinner and its tail longer than the Lynx. It can grow up to 3 feet in body length and sport a tail about a third of its body size. Its coloration is generally yellowish brown to a darker red/brown, with the undersides of the cat, areas around the eyes and under the chin being white. The backs of its ears are black – the name Caracal is derived from the Turkish word 'karakulak', meaning 'black ear'. Melanistic or all black caracal have also been reported

The Cheetah in many ways is peculiar amongst the many cat species. In both looks and physical mobility it resembles a large muscular greyhound - its long streamlined body is carried on long, thin but powerful legs, which endow it with great speed in the chase. A fully-grown cheetah can reach speeds in excess of 60 mph and can easily outrun any animal over short distances. Its paws too, are almost dog-like, narrow and hard padded they sport only slightly retractable claws, the only of its type amongst the species of cat, and offer the cat extra grip in its high-speed pursuits. The cheetah unlike other 'Big Cats' does not roar, however it does purr and other vocal sounds range from high pitched yelps and barks to longer chirruping sounds.

The leopard is most easily recognised by its rosette patterned coat and extremely long, darker tail. This large cat is sometimes confused in appearance with the South American Jaguar - the leopard though is less stocky and unlike the jaguar, its rosette markings are generally smaller and have no internal spots. The overall size of the leopard depends very much on the subspecies and location, with the largest animals growing to a length of nearly 5 feet with an additional tail length of some 3 feet - generally the male is between 20-40% larger than the female. The base coloration of the coat also varies greatly depending upon location, ranging from golden/yellow in open grasslands, through yellow/cream in desert areas to deep gold in mountain and forest regions.

The lion stands out from the other 'big cats', not only in its distinctive appearance but also in being the only felid that lives in organised social groups. In appearance the lion is a powerfully built, muscular cat. The fur is short and generally uniform in colour, ranging from grey/buff to reddish brown in coloration with the exception of the undersides which are often white, especially in females. The back of the ears and tip of the tail are dark brown or black. However the most distinctive feature of the male lion is its mane, a ruff of thick, long fur. The colour of the mane varies from a light brown to almost black and covers the sides of the face, neck and in some animals extends to the abdomen. The adolescent male begins to grow its mane at about 18 months and it continues to grow until the cat reaches about five years of age - throughout this period it is common for the mane to darken. A fully developed male lion can grow up to 10 feet in body length and is surpassed in size only by the larger species of tiger .

As its name implies the sand cat is commonly found in sandy desert areas in the arid countries of Northern Africa, Arabia and parts of Central Asia and Pakistan - sand cats indigenous to each of these areas are catorgorised as sub species, respectively, Felis margarita margarita (North Africa), Felis margarita harrisoni (Arabian Peninsula), Felis margarita thinobia (west of the Caspian Sea) and Felis margarita scheffeli (Pakistan). Due to its fragmented distribution across the Saharan part of its range some experts sub-catogarise the North African species of the sand cat into further distinct sub-species - Felis margarita airensis (Niger) and Felis margarita meinertzhageni (Sahara) - however due to the difficulty in obtaining accurate population figures and accurate scientific data of cats in open desert areas, exact classification is uncertain.

The serval is generally found in most parts of Africa excluding the arid desert regions to the north around the Sahara, parts of the western tip of Southern Africa and certain areas of the tropical rainforest belt of Central Africa. A northern sub-species, is rarely sighted and is listed as endangered.
Approximately similar in size to the Caracal, the serval has extraordinarily long legs for its body size which can be up to 3 feet in length, whilst standing up to 20 inches in shoulder height. The base fur colour is sandy to reddish brown and is covered in dark spots which have a tendency to merge into stripes along the top of the back. noticeable regional variation in markings are shown – in West Africa the spotted markings are smaller and much less distinct and it was once believed that these cats formed a separate species, the Servaline Cat (F. servalina).

Broadcom easy on Wi-Fi set-up!

Broadcom became one of the best wi-Fi chip maker and is in the way of creating a software that will make setting up a secure WLANs very easy to do. The software provides a simple way wizard that configures both the access point and the PC client using the Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) TKIP security system. Users setting up a WLAN for the first time are asked to provide the answers to two easy questions. These answers will be used to create the authentication and data encryption keys, and the access point's unique SSID, details of which are provided to the user. When other clients are added to the WLAN, the software will asks for the information will validate him before configuring the client-side settings.

In order to ensure that the correct access point is configured, the software will only connect to access points that have been operational for less than an hour. The system requires both access point and client adaptor contain one of Broadcom's 54g-branded 802.11g chipsets. Broadcom also produce 802.11g chipsets to Linksys, Buffalo, Belkin, Motorola, Apple, Acer, Dell, HP, Gateway and others.

Since the beginning, the Wi-Fi Alliance, the standard's interoperability and marketing body, has insisted that all WPA-certified devices ship with full security settings in place. They used to turne security off by default because of the difficulty many users had in setting up secure networks. This, in turn, helped Wi-Fi develop a reputation for being easy to penetrate. WPA certainly improves WLAN security over the older Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) specification, but even WPA is useless if it's not enabled.

The First Scout!

MAJOR-GENERAL ROBERT S. S. BADEN-POWELL.

In 1907 Robert S. S. Baden-Powell planned a special nine-day outing to test his ideas for training boys. This ideas showed to be useful, and the Scouting movement was created.
ROBERT born in Feb. 22, 1857, in London, England and died in Jan. 8, 1941. Was officially recognized as the founder of Boy Scout movement.

He was born in London, as a boy, he loved outdoor play and reading. He was also a good actor and gifted artist, he draw well with either hand.
Powell was only 19 when joined the British Army as a sub-lieutenant and sailed for India.
He had a special admiration for Zulu Warriors. For 34 years Baden-Powell was a professional soldier. He campaigned in Afghanistan and fought against the Zulu, Ashanti, and Matabele tribes in Africa, where England had colonies.
Baden-Powell admired the Zulu warriors and traditions. Later, he adopted their left-hand handshake for his Boy Scouts. Becoming an expert in his work he wrote Army manuals on the subject. But he wasn't yet famous. He was almost unknown outside his regiment when war broke out in South Africa in 1899. Then a Colonel, was assigned to raise two regiments of English settlers in South Africa to fight the Boers. These were Dutch settlers who were resisting British rule. Known as the Battle of Mafeking. Baden Powell and about 1.000 new soldiers were in a sleepy little town called Mafeking when 9,000 Boers attacked. He used tricks to make the Boers think he had a much bigger force. He held Mafeking for 217 days. Another British force arrived to help, and England heard the news of Baden Powell's resistance. For recognitions of his actions his nation considered him as an instant hero.

When he returned to England in 1903, he was surprised to see that young boys were using training exercises from his manual “Aids to Scouting”, a manual that he wrote for professional soldiers. Some people thought he should rewrite the book for boys. And then Powell began to study how boys grow and develop and to think about how boys could be trained.
In the summer of 1907 he tried out his ideas at a two-week camp for 22 teen-age boys. The camp was held on Brownsea Island off England's southern coast.
The campers, who were the first Boy Scouts, learned camping skills, first aid, lifesaving, and nature lore. Much of their instruction was through games and contests.
In 1908, Baden-Powell published the first Scout handbook, called "Scouting for Boys." He illustrated it himself in a 182 page book packed with campfire yarns and ideas for skills that Scouts have used ever since. The book was a best seller. Troops sprang up all over England. Before long there were troops in Canada and the United States too.
On Feb. 8, 1910, when the BSA was officially born, there were probably 50 or more troops in this country. The man who signed the papers setting up the BSA was William D. Boyce, a Chicago newspaper publisher.
Boyce had first heard of Scouting in August 1909 when he was in London, England. He was lost in a fog, and a boy guided him to where he wanted to go. This boy refused a tip because, saying that Scouts do not accept tips for courtesies or Good Turns. Boyce was impressed and started learning as much as he could about Scouting. After he got home, he incorporated the BSA as an organization. Baden-Powell ideas was already considered founder of Scouting,
At a dinner banquet in New York in 1910, Ernest Thompson Seton introduced Baden Powell as the father of Scouting. Baden-Powell replied with the famous phrase: "You are mistaken, Mr. Seton .... I may say that you, or Dan Beard, is the father, there are many fathers. I am only one of the uncles, I might say."
Baden-Powell was being modest, but there was truth in what he said. Several of the training games he described in "Scouting for Boys" were taken from Seton's book, "The Birch-bark Roll of the Woodcraft Indians." So was the idea of having boys earn badges by meeting standards, not by competing against other boys.

Still, Baden-Powell is rightly considered the founder of Scouting.

The 100th birthday of the bra!

The "bra" is 100 years old, in 1907 the word “brassiere” born in US Vogue. In Paris, a French couturier named Paul Poiret has opened his fashion house. His revolutionary dress styles will persuade a generation of women to ditch the corset. 6 years later, the American socialite Mary Phelps Jacob bought a sheer evening dress and, not wishing to wear a corset, fashions her own underwear from two silk handkerchiefs and some ribbon. She is granted the first US patent for the brassiere the following year.
In 1923, a Russian immigrant Ida Rosenthal and her husband William found Maidenform. In years to come she will be a pioneer in the idea of different cup sizes for different women, as well as patent a bra strap fastener. And in 1935 Warner’s creates the cup sizing system. Later on 1957 Howard Hughes invented what in the future was called push-up, this bra was created for Jane Russell to wear under a tight silk blouse in The Outlaw. It is, however, denied a place in fashion history when Jane Russell later claims that she never wore it.

In 1959 a synthetic fibber named lycra is invented by scientists at DuPont. Adding this stretchy manmade fibre to the mix makes it possible for a bra to fit comfortably and close to the body without sagging, bagging or losing its shape.
Five years later, a Canadian company called Canadelle invents the Wonderbra, designed to lift and separate the bust. It was used by Eva Herzigova stars in the "Hello Boys" advertising campaign.
Triumph’s Doreen bra, a supportive, and non-underwired style, goes on sale for the first time in 1967. It is the best selling bra in the world today. In 1977 Hinda Miller, Lisa Lindahl and Polly Smith sew two jockstraps together and call it the Jogbra, becoming the first sports bra.

An underwear as an outerwear was created by Jean Paul Gaultier: the conical bra for Madonna’s Blonde tour.
An Italian manufacturer, named Santoni develops a circular knitting machine that allows a bra to be knitted all in one go, instead of separate pieces needing to be cut and sewn together. This leads to today’s increasingly popular seamless, tagless bras. And This year by the hands of Hanro, Chantelle and Ballet and more, are among brands that offer bras in eco-friendly bamboo blend fabrics.

Samsung SDI double ultra thin flat screen output

Samsung, in one of the most important companies in south Korean. Samsung started mass producing the ultra thin flat screens, the OLED screen, and it would double capacity by next year, sending its shares surging 14 percent. The world's nº.3 maker of plasma display panels is increasingly looking at the super thin screens called AM-OLED as a growth driver, as they produce brighter images and use less power. Samsung SDI is prepared to double monthly output capacity of active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AM-OLED) displays to 3 million units by 2008 from 1.5 million now. The company has been plagued by falling prices and weak margins in both plasma display panels (PDP) and traditional cathode-ray tubes for televisions. Forcing them to invest in a new business. Flat screen makers are betting that OLED screens will replace the currently dominant LCD panels on multimedia mobile phones and portable media very soon.
