SONY bio battery

This Japan consumer electronics, has created an innovative biological friendly battery that generates electricity from sugar. It’s the bio battery casing of vegetable-based plastic with only 39 width, 39 heightand 39 depth mm and it can generate about 50mW that can power MP3 device and a pair of speakers. According to the company, Sugar is a naturally occurring energy source produced by plants through photosynthesis. and therefore regenerative, and can be found in most areas of the earth, reminding the potential for batteries based on sugar as an ecologically and friendly energy of the future.”
This new technology based design breaks free from the traditional energy sources of Methanol and instead uses enzymes to break down or oxidise the sugar and create electrical energy. SONY company has claimed the world record output from a biological battery of this type, and will continue its development of bio battery to enhance the durability, aiming for commercial use in the future.
